Asbestos Reference:

There is one page featuring American Flexible Metal Hose.  It says, "American Flexible Metal Hose and Tubing is made in two major styles - the first is fabricated from strip metal spirally wound and usually packed with asbestos; the second it made by corrugating seamless tubes."  There is a specifications section that explains how all of the steam hose and oil hose described below are made in accordance with U.S. Navy specifications.
