ASBESTOS REFERENCES:
This catalog has a section that shows the valve parts and many of the valves contained asbestos gaskets or asbestos packing.  Sometimes the asbestos gaskets were used only in some of the size valves, and this book provides the information about exactly when they were used.  An example page is shown below.  There are 8 pages mentioning asbestos parts for the valves.
